Orthodox Wedding

The Orthodox ceremony is composed of two part, once separated, and today merged into a single celebration.

The first one is the engagement and it is the solemnization of the wedding promises; the second one is called Coronation, a name that comes from the crowns placed on the head of the spouses. What we love most about Orthodox wedding, besides the solemn coronation, is the triple procession that the priest makes together with the spouses around the church, like a sacred dance that seals the union and love of the two newlyweds.
In Italy there are several Orthodox churches where it is possible to organize the ceremony: for example the Orthodox churches of Venice, Florence or Rome, all cities of art perfect setting for a fairytale wedding.
