Chinese Ceremony

The typical color of Chinese weddings is not our white but red and it is the symbol of love and prosperity. The red color dominates the whole scene: accessories and settings.

The bride and groom wear traditional Chinese clothes and the ritual can take place in the location chosen for the reception. Two frequent symbols of the Chinese wedding are the dragon, which symbolizes the man and the phoenix which symbolizes the woman. Traditionally the bride and groom approach the table where are their parents and bow before them three times to pray for heaven and earth, for the parents themselves and for the marriage. The most important moment of the ceremony is the tea ritual: tea is served by the spouses to their parents as a sign of gratitude for having helped and guided them in their growth till that moment. The tea is then also offered to all the guests.
